David K. Olive is an associate and member of the Transactional and Estate Planning Practice Groups of Carnahan Evans PC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of tax and estate planning, employee benefits, ERISA, business transactions, real estate, entity formation and acquisition, and marijuana and hemp regulations and transactions.
Mr. Olive received both his undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Missouri in 2010 and 2013, respectively. While in law school, he was a founding member of the Tax Law Society at The University of Missouri. In 2014, Mr. Olive received his LL.M. in Taxation from Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned the CALI Excellence Award for highest grades earned in Federal Tax Procedure & Corporate Taxation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Olive was a Trust Officer at two national trust companies, where he handled complex issues related to trust and estate settlement administration.
Mr. Olive is a member of the Missouri Bar Association (Tax Committee), The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Bar Association (Tax Law Section and Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section). He is also a member of the Greene County Estate Planning Council, and is a proud member of Leadership Springfield (Signature Class 37). Mr. Olive was recently included in the inaugural edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for his work in ERISA law.
