David Lisch focuses his practice on virtually all aspects of patent litigation, along with trademark and copyright prosecution and litigation, for a variety of industries and technologies. His engineering background, coupled with his tailored IP experience, allows him to more easily evaluate and work to solve his clients’ issues.
His patent litigation work involves performing pre-filing infringement analysis and drafting of claim charts through trial, including reviewing and analyzing asserted invalidating prior art, drafting requests for admission and interrogatories, and helping prepare experts for depositions. David has inherent knowledge of patents related to 4G/LTE technology, H.264 video codecs, touch-screen operations, and oil and gas drilling technologies.
Additionally, David prosecutes and litigates trademark matters, along with managing international trademark portfolio for various clients. He also handles copyright prosecution and litigation, with experience in areas relating to literary works, motion pictures, and computer programs.
David is dedicated to providing strategic counseling to established companies and startups to protect their intellectual property and their overall business interests.
David has grown in his IP skills, gaining experience with both national law firms and boutique IP firms, including Gray Reed & McGraw LLP, Krueger Iselin LLP and McDermott Will & Emery. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a systems engineer and applications engineer for National Instruments and was based in Austin, Texas.
