Ernie Schirru has practiced both labour and employment law at Koskie Minsky since his call to the Bar in 2003 and is the current leader of the firm’s Labour practice group.
Ernie represents industrial, public sector, private sector, entertainment industry and construction trade unions on a full range of labour relations matters, including the acquisition and maintenance of bargaining rights, unfair labour practices, discipline and discharge, grievances arising under collective agreements, human rights issues, employment standards, health and safety, workplace injuries and collective bargaining. Ernie also provides clients with advice on a wide variety of individual employment and human resource related issues and litigation.
In 2015, Ernie accepted an appointment as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School where he teaches the upper year JD Collective Bargaining Law Course. He is also a co-editor and regular contributor to the Koskie Minsky Employment News and Employment Law blog.
