Hildegard Schöllmann

Hildegard Schöllmann is a lawyer and local partner in the Cologne office of Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner mbB. She advises on all food and feed law issues along the food industry’s value chain as well as on the relevant complementary areas of law such as trademark and competition law.

Prior to joining Friedrich Graf von Westphalen, she was a partner in the German food law boutique KWG Rechtsanwälte. She studied law in Cologne and Amsterdam.

Hildegard comprehensively accompanies product developments with regard to their composition, labelling as well as their advertising and protectability. Further focal points of her work are the development of sustainable concepts for compliance with food law, including advice in the context of risk and complaint management as well as in liability and recourse issues. She represents companies in disputes with competitors and authorities, including in criminal and sanction proceedings.

In addition to her advisory and forensic work, she regularly lectures and publishes on various food law topics, e.g. compliance issues, allergen labelling, geographical indications, vegan and vegetarian food, alcoholic beverages, spirit drinks and sustainability issues.
