I am an attorney in Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, LLP Charleston office, where I focus my practice on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.
If there’s one word you can use to describe my approach to developing legal strategies it would have to be pragmatic. My clients benefit from a real-world understanding of financial issues backed by logical plans for resolving tough and complex fiscal situations.
With a practice that spans nearly three decades, I have extensive experience in debtor and creditor representation and am a certified specialist in bankruptcy and debtor-creditor law, earning specialist distinction from the South Carolina Supreme Court. I’m also well versed in the court system of the Carolinas and am licensed to practice in all of the state and federal courts of North Carolina and South Carolina.
I began my career working in various positions at the Supreme Court of the United States, including serving as the personal assistant to Chief Justice Warren E. Burger.
Outside of the walls of Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, LLP, I am firmly committed to advancing the legal profession and am actively involved in the South Carolina Specialization Committee for Bankruptcy and Debtor Creditor Law, the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Law Section, the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, the Commercial Law League of America, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
I currently serve as a board member of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, where I’ve held a number of leadership roles, including Chairman. I’m a charter member of the Business Advocating Change Political Action Committee and served as its Chairman from 2003 to 2005.
