Joel Fairbrother is an employment lawyer. He is a partner and co-founder of Bow River Law LLP.
Joel's key practice areas are employment law, labour law and human rights, but he does some general civil litigation as well.
Prior to law school, Joel obtained a BA degree in Political Science from University of Alberta. He attended law school at University of Saskatchewan and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2011.
Joel has experience litigating at all levels of court and many different tribunals in Alberta, and in 2022 was successful as a respondent on a leave to appeal application to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Joel believes strongly in legal education and mentorship. He is the current Case Law Officer for the Alberta Employment Law South Section of the Canadian Bar Association, and regularly writes employment law blog articles for posting on the Bow River Law website and distribution to practicing lawyers and interested law nerds alike.
Joel has litigated against many other lawyers, firms and companies. He is confident and capable counsel regardless of his opponent.
