John L. Pinnix- "Jack"- is Allen & Pinnix, P.A.’s senior immigration attorney. For over 40 years he has limited his practice to immigration and nationality issues. A nationally recognized authority on immigration law and policy, Mr. Pinnix served as the national president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and he was among the very first attorneys in North Carolina to practice immigration law. He was a founding member of the Carolinas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and twice served as Chapter Chair. Attorneys and immigration firms, employers and individuals throughout the United States confer with Mr. Pinnix and entrust Allen & Pinnix, P.A. with their immigration matters. Mr. Pinnix has successfully represented thousands of clients in virtually every area of immigration law. This includes persons seeking immigrant and non-immigrant employment authorization, lawful permanent resident status (“green card”), and U.S. citizenship. He has been involved in complex cases involving on both the administrative and appellate levels. Mr. Pinnix served as an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina Central University School of Law and Elon University School of Law and as a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law. Since 1991, he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Immigration Law category and in North Carolina Super Lawyers since 2006.

Jack Pinnix serves on the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is a North Carolina State Bar Specialist in Immigration Law.
