Jorge Ferrer Barreiro

Jorge holds a degree in Law and Econocmics from the Carlos III University of Madrid.

He has extensive experience in financial law, with broad experience in MIFID, IDD, MAD, AML, EMIR, UCITS, AIFMD, e-payments, fintech and crowdfunding regulations, as well as corporate governance and compliance.

Jorge has also a wealth of experience in expertise in mercantile and regulatory matters, such as opening of branches and representative offices, cross-border activities, structuring investment vehicles, bankruptcy proceeding of financial entities and negotiation of complex transactions, regulatory procedures vis-à-vis Spanish financial authorities and financial instruments litigation (swaps, convertible bonds).

Before joining finReg360, Jorge worked in the Banking, Insurance and Financial Institutions Law Department of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira and as the Partner leading the financial regulatory matters in KPMG Spain.

He regularly lectures at Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles and CUNEF.
