As a dedicated, business-oriented transactional attorney, Julie Klavan focuses her practice on representing commercial real estate companies in a variety of commercial real estate sectors, such as multi-family, industrial, renewables and solar, office, retail, and improved and unimproved land development.
She provides tailored practical counsel to buyers, sellers, developers, borrowers and investors with respect to virtually all stages of such transactions from inception to closing.
Julie has experience advising and negotiating many types of commercial real estate and corporate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, partnership and company agreements, leasing, and asset-based financing and other credit facilities, throughout Texas and across the U.S.
Julie also has experience advising clients on commercial property related due diligence matters and title and survey. Additionally, she has represented prominent oil and gas corporations on complex title issues and original drilling opinions.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Julie was in private practice with nationwide Dallas-area law firms.
During law school, Julie was an extern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Irma Carrillo Ramirez of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and a law clerk for the general counsel of a national mortgage lender.
