Julie Meaders is an associate in Fishman Haygood’s Litigation Section and is a tenacious advocate for her clients.
Her practice is primarily focused on environmental litigation, including coastal land loss cases in which she represents landowners, and pollution/nuisance cases in which she represents members of affected communities.
Julie also represents investors, bankruptcy trustees, and employees in a variety of commercial disputes, including bankruptcy-related litigation, matters involving breaches of fiduciary duties by directors and officers, and WARN Act litigation.
Julie’s prior experience with insurance and personal injury defense also helps support strategy in a variety of disputes.
While in law school at Tulane, Julie interned for the Honorable James L. Dennis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also served as Editor in Chief of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. As a student attorney in the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, Julie successfully argued a motion against Formosa and LDEQ, resulting in a court order compelling LDEQ to redo its environmental justice analysis of Formosa’s proposed project.
Julie is a member of the Louisiana Bar Foundation, the Tulane Inn of Court, Phi Alpha Delta, the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Association for Women Attorneys.
