Registered at the Paris and Montreal bars, Julie Uzan-Naulin is partner in our Privacy and Cybersecurity group. She has gained valuable experience in the GDPR and in personal data protection in Canada more generally, and advises many organizations of all sizes on these issues.
Julie holds a PhD in law and has extensive experience in the area of privacy protection. She understands the legal issues clients may face and works to align their business activities and objectives, in compliance with existing standards.
She advises every type of business on issues such as how to use data for marketing and targeted advertising purposes, as well as on cookies, anonymization and pseudonymization processes. She also handles files involving cross-border data transfers. More generally, she advises businesses to ensure their practices and projects comply with European (GDPR, e-Privacy) and Canadian personal information protection legislations.
Julie also advises businesses in the context of data breaches and assists them by coordinating various players, in the context of investigations, for instance, by advising organizations on their disclosure obligations in Europe and Canada and by preparing notifications to regulatory bodies and to the individuals concerned.
