Karl focuses his practice on civil and commercial litigation (including construction, insurance and real estate law), as well as health and social services law. He works in many different areas, catering to a wide range of clients, from individuals to SMEs, large corporations and government agencies, and is involved in all stages of various matters. Karl assists his clients by namely providing strategic advice and represents his clients before Quebec’s trial and appellate courts.
His practice also covers matters relating to professional liability, such that he represents professionals from numerous industries. In fact, Karl represented the health and social services professionals from the Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Center in the Desmond Fatality Inquiry in Nova Scotia.
Prior to joining Lavery de Billy, L.L.P., he held the position of Senior Legal Counsel with the largest cooperative financial group in North America. In addition to being a true business partner, he makes every effort to prevent contentious situations from arising. His approach is centered on his clients’ needs, and he strives to resolve conflicts quickly and definitively, using pragmatic and efficient methods to propose viable and lasting solutions to his clients.
Karl also teaches at the École du Barreau du Québec, sits on the board of the Fondation de l’Ordre des dentistes du Québec as a director and is a Governor of the Future of the Fondation du Barreau du Québec.
