Kent Wicker is a founding partner in Reed Wicker PLLC, a law firm based in Louisville, Kentucky, where he practices white collar criminal defense and business litigation. Before entering private practice, he served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Criminal Division Chief for the Western District of Kentucky, where he also tried criminal fraud and public corruption cases. Wicker devotes a substantial part of his practice now to health care issues, representing providers in criminal and civil investigations and in qui tam litigation.
Wicker has been recognized and included in Best Lawyers in America, in the Kentucky edition of Superlawyers, and in Louisville Magazine’s “Top Lawyers in Louisville.” He is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell’s listing of American lawyers. Wicker teaches courses in Corporate and White Collar Crime and Trial Practice at University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law. He has also taught Trial Practice at the Department of Justice’s National Advocacy Institute. In March 2006, Wicker testified before the U.S. Sentencing Commission on behalf of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as part of NACDL’s efforts to eliminate compelled privilege waivers.
Wicker graduated from Duke University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (summa cum laude) with Distinction in Economics. He graduated with honors from Harvard Law School in 1988.
