Kim's practice includes a specialty in transportation law focusing primarily in marine and trucking including freight forwarding and logistics, cargo issues, casualty cases, transportation-related personal injury matters and loss transfer litigation. Kim is a Past President of the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association (2012). She is the President of the Women's International Shipping & Trade Association having been the National Vice President and Vice President Central. Kim is listed in Best Lawyers (2016-2024) for Maritime Law/Transportation Law. Kim is listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (2016-2024) as Consistently Recommended for Transportation (Rail and Road). She is listed by Lexology Canada for Shipping and Maritime (2017-2024) as a Leader in the Field.

Kim has extensive experience handling all manners of defence insurance litigation including products liability, liquor liability, fire, property and casualty liability and subrogation. Kim also provides advice on coverage issues inclusive of excess/umbrella insurance matters.

Kim has conducted trials in both the Ontario Superior Court and the Federal Court of Canada. She was called to the bar in 1988 received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.

Kim is an active mediator and holds her Certificate in ADR and Advanced ADR from the University of Windsor and from Pepperdine University in California and has extensive mediation experience.

Kim regularly speaks at conferences, conducts seminars and writes articles in the areas of her expertise, which publications include The Transportation Lawyer. Kim is a member of The Canadian Transport Lawyers Association, The Transportation Lawyers Association, Canadian Maritime Law Association, The Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters, Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association, The Marine Club, the Marine Recovery Forum, the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association, The Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society, and the Organization of Women in International Trade.
