Mr. Canada is a seasoned trial attorney with significant experience in handling both small and large complex matters. He has tried numerous cases to Judges and Juries in both State and Federal courts in Louisiana and Mississippi. He has also mediated and arbitrated cases in Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Mr. Canada understands both sides of litigation, as he began his legal career representing injured plaintiffs, handling environmental and toxic tort, maritime and product’s liability claims. After two and a half years, he was hired as an Associate at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins & Burr: against whom he had litigated several cases. Mr. Canada stayed with Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith for 29 years and founded their office in Gulfport, Mississippi. Mr. Canada retired from that practice and is now a Senior Trial Counsel with the Alabama Disability Advocacy Program, advocating for and protecting the rights of the disabled in Alabama.

While at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, Mr. Canada was panel counsel for several insurance companies in Louisiana and South Mississippi in the areas of employment law, construction law and professional malpractice defense. He was also general counsel for several local and regional companies to whom he gave legal advice related to all aspects of their businesses as well as handling their litigation needs: including contracts, risk management, commercial transactions, employment issues, vicarious liability, premises liability, insurance defense and products liability.

Mr. Canada now concentrates on issues which affect those with disabilities, such as The American's with Disabilities Act, The Fair Housing Act, and The Rehabilitation Act. Mr. Canada also serves as an Assistant Bar Examiner for the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Mr. Canada serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama School of Law teaching Pre-Trial Advocacy and Trial Advocacy courses.
