Lauren A. Nehra is a dedicated litigation attorney who takes great pride in providing superior client service as she practices in matters including contract disputes, landlord/tenant cases, personal injury and Orphans’ Court matters (guardianships, will contests). A recent client describes Lauren as a lawyer who “exceeded our expectations and has gone out of her way to help us.” Licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and Delaware, Lauren prioritizes listening to her clients and working hard to protect and advance their interests.
Lauren joined Gawthrop Greenwood in June 2021, after spending time in private practice at a civil litigation law firm where she focused on civil rights defense, employment law and general civil litigation. Prior to that, Lauren clerked with the Delaware Attorney General’s Office, where she worked in both the Criminal and Family Divisions and represented the state at misdemeanor hearings in the Court of Common Pleas.
Originally from the Lehigh Valley, Lauren moved to Chester County while earning her Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from West Chester University, where she graduated summa cum laude, was president of the Pre-Law Society, and served on the university’s Judicial Board. Lauren went on to obtain her paralegal certificate from Widener Law’s Legal Education Institute, working as a legal assistant and paralegal for several different firms and government agencies in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
In December 2019, Lauren earned her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School, magna cum laude, as a recipient of the George B. Lindsay Foundation Award for significant achievement in legal research and writing. Lauren attended law school as an evening-division student while working during the day as a paralegal and law clerk, first in the Criminal Felony Division of the Delaware Department of Justice and then with a civil defense firm in Wilmington. While in law school, Lauren was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, where she was a several-time finalist, earning multiple awards including best oral advocate. Additionally, Lauren was a member of Phi Alpha Delta’s Mock Trial Team, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, and served as the vice president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Association.
Lauren is an active member of the Chester County Bar Association, where she was elected as the 2023 Secretary/Treasurer of the Young Lawyers’ Division. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Chester County Food Bank, and has been a co-chair of Gawthrop Greenwood’s Professional Responsibility Committee since 2022. Lauren enjoys volunteering with The Garage Youth Center in Kennett Square and is active in the local chapter of the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), where she is a member of the Gala Committee.
