Matt Parkin has a corporate transactional and federal income tax practice focused primarily on business transactions, tax litigation and controversy, as well as the taxation of non-profit / exempt organizations. His business transactional practice includes advising clients on the corporate and tax aspects of formation of business ventures, real estate developments, mergers and acquisitions, capital restructurings, and asset and stock dispositions. Matt also regularly represents business clients in the cold storage and long-term care industries in connection with matters including entity formation and governance; complex mergers and acquisitions; and the acquisition, sale, leasing and development of real property. He also has experience representing clients in the regulated Oregon cannabis industry.

Matt represents individuals, closely held businesses and large corporate clients in audits, administrative appeals and collection matters, as well as in litigation in U.S. Tax Court, Federal District Court, and Federal Courts of Appeal.

Matt often advises debtors and lenders regarding the tax aspects of bankruptcy reorganizations and debt restructurings outside of bankruptcy.
