Mona focuses her practice on the areas of health and social services law, civil litigation and labour law. She uses her creativity and rigour in the drafting of complex contracts, in the context of alternative conflict resolution processes and while she pleads before administrative and common law courts.
Reflexive, analytical and quick-witted, Mona quickly grasps the different perspectives of a complex situation. Her objective is to understand the needs of clients in order to find a practical solution that is specifically adapted to them and their situation.
Mona manages various endeavours pertaining to human rights. She coordinates mandates related to applications for treatment orders and institutional custody. She also orchestrated the redesign of the Publication Les droits de la personne et les relations de travail, published by Yvon Blais, and ensures its biannual update with the authors.
Her approach to the legal profession is influenced by her previous experiences as a project manager in non-governmental organizations in various countries and as a professor of international relations for the members of the Canadian Forces. As an observer of social dynamics, she explores the legal arena with an analytical eye. She started her practice in 2016 when joining the team of Monette Barakett.
