Peter is a trial lawyer with decades of experience in commercial litigation, business valuation and close corporation disputes, the defense of class actions, and healthcare and information law. He holds the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Certified Civil Trial Lawyer designation and the CIPP/US certification.
He has handled matters on behalf of corporate clients in a broad array of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services, information technology, cosmetics, industrial equipment, food service and others. Recent highlights include a federal court jury verdict on a contract claim arising from an acquisition and pre-discovery dismissals of a putative consumer class action against a retailing client over the portion sizing of its beverage offerings, a putative class action against a private aviation firm regarding its pricing practices, and a suit seeking to enforce a Venezuelan corporate guaranty against a corporate officer. Peter also leads teams conducting internal investigations on behalf of large public companies.
Currently the Editor and Chair of the Board of Editors of the IADC’s Defense Counsel Journal, Peter has served in numerous leadership positions within the IADC and the New York State Bar Association, and regularly participates in CLE programs and writes on information privacy, data security, and eDiscovery topics. Awarded the Best Lawyer® recognition, Peter was the recipient of the IADC’s 2022 Yancey Award for excellence in the DCJ writing for his article, “Social Media Immunity in 2021 and Beyond: Will Platforms Continue to Avoid Litigation Exposure Faced by Offline Counterparts.”
