Phillip W. Hilliard focuses his legal practice on estate and tax planning and estate and trust administration. He also works with clients on related real estate transactions, business succession planning, tax controversy matters, and other challenges faced by moderate and high net worth individuals and families.
Phillip has experience developing and drafting customized estate planning documents for clients, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and a broad range of Trust instruments. Phillip also has experience representing fiduciaries, trustees, and beneficiaries in a variety of matters and in all stages of the administration of a trust or an estate, including probate proceedings, fiduciary accountings, and the distribution of trust or estate assets to beneficiaries.
In addition, Phillip has experience preparing federal gift tax returns and estate tax returns, representing fiduciaries during federal estate tax return audits, and assisting in the preparing of fiduciary, corporate, and partnership income tax returns. Phillip also has experience researching and advising clients on a variety of property tax, gift tax, and estate tax matters, as well as issues related to the income taxation of individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and corporations.
