Renaud Garon Gendron is an intellectual property lawyer based in Montreal. He focuses in particular on litigation related to patents, trademarks and copyright. He also drafts legal opinions related to trademark availability and registration, in addition to dealing with administrative proceedings before the Registrar of Trademarks (opposition or expungement proceedings).
Mr. Garon Gendron is also a member of our information governance, privacy and cyber security team. He regularly advises on cyber security incidents, such as data and privacy breaches.
His experience in intellectual property and privacy protection resulting from the collection, the use and disclosure of personal data leads him to advise clients in the negotiation and drafting of complex technology agreements, to provide advice on data protection laws, privacy and cybersecurity, and to provide assistance in the context of mergers and acquisitions of technology companies.
Prior to joining us, Mr. Garon Gendron worked for four years in a national law firm specialized in intellectual property, where he represented large companies across various industries, including sporting equipment, food and alcohol, tobacco, dental prostheses, software and new technologies.
During his law studies, Mr. Garon Gendron articled in an international engineering consulting firm, where he worked with the legal department team on a wide range of issues related to the contracts signed for major engineering projects.
