Rob Stone is a partner in Alston & Bird’s Health Care Group, whose practice focuses on health care compliance and regulatory matters, primarily counseling national health care systems, academic medical centers, physician groups and other health care providers. His skills include assisting with the broad range of federal and state fraud and abuse issues, from compliance program development and review to internal and government investigations. He has extensive experience preparing, negotiating and resolving provider self-disclosures under both the OIG and CMS protocols.
On the corporate side, Rob counsels clients who are entering or exiting joint ventures, facing complex reimbursement issues, engaging in physician recruitment, clinical trial contracting and related regulatory compliance. In addition to providers, he has also worked with medical device manufacturers, GPOs, medical supply companies and other companies in the health care industry.
Rob regularly presents at national seminars on complex and novel reimbursement matters as well as fraud and abuse and compliance issues.
Before law school, Rob practiced as a mental health counselor in Florida, working in the juvenile justice and community mental health systems.
