Roy is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group representing individuals and businesses in commercial litigation cases in Maine, Massachusetts and beyond. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for the past several years in the area of Commercial Litigation. He has a varied practice with experience litigating business tort, breach of contract, trade secrets, copyright infringement, products liability, real estate, land use, and tax disputes. In addition, he maintains an active appellate practice and has argued more than two dozen appeals before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Following law school, Roy clerked for the Honorable David G. Roberts, Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Before joining Jensen Baird, he practiced with two other firms in Southern Maine where he litigated and tried a wide range of commercial, business, and state tax cases throughout the country. He has also lectured on multistate tax issues.
Roy lives in Freeport with his wife and two daughters. He has been actively involved in youth soccer having served as a coach and member of the Board of Directors of the Freeport United Soccer Club. He has twice completed the Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb, considered by many to be the toughest hill climb in the world.
