Shep initially engaged in a broad civil practice and eventually focused on litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters that impacted investments, business transactions and the financial services industry. He has represented investors, public and private companies, broker-dealers, financial institutions, investment advisers, commodities firms and registered representatives in a wide variety of matters throughout the country, including breach of contract actions, trading desk disputes, raiding and employee transition cases, intellectual property matters, mark-up issues and fraud and breach of fiduciary duty suits. He has also counseled associated persons and firms with respect to regulatory matters and represented firms and registered representatives in regulatory proceedings involving FINRA and state and federal securities regulators.

A former chair of the Securities Section of the Memphis Bar Association, Shep has spoken at numerous seminars on securities litigation, arbitration and employment issues.
