Tammy Helminski advises municipal, institutional, manufacturing and individual clients on the environmental aspects of their operations. Using her technical background as an engineer and legal policy experience allows her to analyze environmental challenges from various perspectives when providing practical solutions for her clients.
Tammy, who is co-chair of the firm’s remediation, corrective action and voluntary cleanups team, manages complex remediation sites involving numerous parties under both state and federal oversight. As a litigator, she has represented clients in cases involving CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA and NREPA, as well as product liability, mold, asbestos, construction and contract litigation matters. In addition, Tammy’s abilities include emergency response advice.
Tammy is experienced with environmental compliance and permitting, including evaluating stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste, TSCA and FIFRA issues, and environmental management systems such as ISO 14001. She is active in evaluating and drafting comments on proposed regulations and is skilled in addressing administrative regulatory challenges. She has also worked with clients on Department of Energy product energy efficiency compliance and enforcement and similar state programs.
